finleap connect, a SaaS and technology provider for banking, insurance, and asset management companies, needed a way to modernize its infrastructure while meeting strict security and compliance requirements such as GDPR, BaFin, and PSD2. As the team scaled from virtual machines on OpenStack to Kubernetes on bare metal, it struggled with expensive, slow environment provisioning that could take three to four weeks and needed a service mesh that could provide mTLS without adding operational complexity.

Buoyant’s Linkerd service mesh was adopted to simplify secure service-to-service communication and improve visibility across the platform. With Linkerd, finleap connect could manage about 2,000 sidecar proxies with a six-person team, spin up new environments in about 10 minutes instead of 3 to 4 weeks, and easily add capabilities like canary deployments with Flagger, all while strengthening security and DevSecOps productivity.
