How Hoar Cut Time Spent on Issue Resolution in Construction in Half

Hoar Construction is building the 35-story, 375-unit Latitude Medical Center in Houston, TX and faced thousands of on-site issues that would have required over 500 phone calls per week and only allowed a superintendent to check 2–3 units per day. To address this communication and coordination challenge, Hoar Construction implemented Buildup’s issue-tracking and communication platform.

Buildup enabled Hoar to upload units and floor plans, drop pins while walking units, and automatically send issue reports to subcontractors, replacing hundreds of daily calls with one consolidated report. According to Superintendent Mike Kleinman, Buildup cut the time spent creating issues by about 50% and reduced weekly phone outreach from roughly 500 calls to a single report, streamlining issue resolution and trade coordination.
