Case Study: OEConnection achieves automated, frequent releases and 200 developer-hours/month savings with BuildMaster

A BuildMaster Case Study

Preview of the OEConnection Case Study

OEConnection - Customer Case Study

OEConnection, the automotive original-equipment parts marketplace that connects more than 35,000 buyers and sellers and processes over 6 million parts transactions monthly, faced a painful, manual monthly "mega build" release process that required weekend work, was error-prone, and blocked developers from focusing on product work. To modernize releases they adopted BuildMaster (with a three-month professional services engagement from Inedo) to automate and manage their build-and-deploy pipeline.

BuildMaster was implemented to automate builds, deployments and approvals, with custom workflows, dashboards, and integrations (TFS/MSBuild, Jenkins/Maven, Artifactory, SVN, etc.). The result: OEConnection eliminated weekend mega-builds, cut roughly 48 hours a week (~200 developer hours/month), moved to more frequent releases (now doing 450+ production releases/year and regular biweekly deploys), reduced errors, and allowed non-developers to run deployments — accelerating time-to-market and productivity.
