Case Study: WebMD achieves HITRUST-compliant automated microservices deployments with BuildMaster

A BuildMaster Case Study

How WebMD Used BuildMaster to Add Automated Installation Scripts to their Microservices

WebMD, the online health services giant, moved to a microservices architecture but found its teams had built disparate, manual build-and-deploy processes with no automated installation scripts—creating operational complexity and a risk to HITRUST/HIPAA compliance. To solve this, WebMD brought in BuildMaster, leveraging its server agents, lightweight footprint, API-driven pipeline automation, and permissions/approvals features to standardize deployments and preserve certification requirements.

BuildMaster implemented agent-based, API-driven build and deployment pipelines that automated installation for 100+ microservices, removed the previous half-day manual release checklist, and enabled instant spin-up of new UI apps and services. The result was full developer visibility, faster lead times, continued HITRUST compliance through enforced approvals, and repeatable, low-risk production deployments.
