Case Study: Datastream Connexion achieves reliable, compliant application deployments with BuildMaster

A BuildMaster Case Study

Preview of the Datastream Connexion Case Study

Datastream Connexion - Customer Case Study

Datastream Connexion, a custom-application provider for federal clients (notably the FoodSHIELD program), faced unreliable, error-prone deployments and strict FISMA-moderate compliance requirements after years of FTP transfers, Ant hooks and manual database updates. They adopted BuildMaster (in use since version 1.2) because they needed an on‑premise, auditable release solution that could meet government controls while fitting into their existing toolchain.

BuildMaster was deployed on-premise with agents, extension libraries and integrations (including Seapine Surround) to enable granular, targeted deployments, robust reporting, and automated release workflows. As a result, Datastream Connexion formalized release processes, moved to more frequent, stable sprint deployments with continuous fixes, gained transparent audit reports used by USDA/FDA and other agencies (reaching several thousand downstream users), improved compliance and contract renewals, and reduced deployment errors—demonstrating BuildMaster’s measurable impact on stability and governance.
