Allrecipes, the global digital food brand, was outgrowing its home‑grown deployment tooling (Site Publisher/Robocopy) as it moved many sites and services to the cloud and faced increasingly complex, variable releases. To avoid diverting developer resources to rebuild deployment infrastructure, Allrecipes evaluated and purchased BuildMaster (12 Enterprise licenses) to replace and modernize their deployment process.

BuildMaster was rolled out iteratively until it achieved parity with the old system and handled Allrecipes’ first full-scale BuildMaster release; today it controls 77 web and service hosts, 15 deployables, 5 major workflows and multiple deployment plans while integrating with source control, AWS, IIS, MSBuild, NUnit, automated tests, HipChat and other tools. BuildMaster enabled Allrecipes to retire their homegrown toolset, make deployments far more manageable and automated, support their biweekly release cadence, and deliver real operational scale and visibility.
