Eastwood Homes Switches From Sage Timberline To Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Gaining Flexibility, Power, And Performance

Eastwood Homes is a family‑owned homebuilder founded in 1977 with six divisions across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. With about 160 employees and roughly $175M in revenue (850 starts in 2013, rising to 1,000 in 2014), Eastwood relied on BuilderMT’s Workflow Management Suite and a long‑standing Sage Timberline accounting system. As volumes grew, Timberline’s Pervasive database, limited reporting, slow task processing (five–six minute waits) and cumbersome export workflows could no longer meet the company’s consolidation, FASB reporting and manage‑by‑exception needs.

Eastwood selected Microsoft Dynamics NAV for its BI/reporting, user experience, accounting capabilities and tight integration with BuilderMT and Microsoft Office. NAV delivers real‑time updates, dashboards, role‑tailored interfaces, faster processing and easy Excel export. Working with BuilderMT and Western Computer, Eastwood began migration in fall 2013, found data translation straightforward, and moved to finalize training and custom reports — achieving greater flexibility, performance and scalable financial reporting to support growth to 1,000 starts.
