Spanish TOP-10 Financial Group increases fraud detection with bugFraud

Online Banking Services, a Spanish top-10 financial group with over 1,000 branches and more than 1 million online banking users, needed a way to detect malware and social engineering attacks without disrupting the customer experience or requiring users to install software. The bank wanted to improve visibility into fraud risks while customers were browsing and transacting online, especially against targeted malware and manipulated banking sessions.

Buguroo implemented bugFraud Defense on the bank’s transactional pages to detect content manipulation in real time and flag infected or high-risk devices. As a result, Online Banking Services increased its fraud-risk visibility, identified more than 30,000 at-risk users in 2017, and helped prevent fraudulent transactions, with key detections including Trickbot, URLZone, and ATS_Engine.
