Dropbox mobile team aims for three nines of user availability with Bugsnag

Dropbox’s mobile team, responsible for Android and iOS apps used worldwide, set a goal to reach “three nines” (99.9%) user availability to match its session stability score. After outgrowing a homegrown system and a year on Crashlytics, the team needed a more powerful, company-wide error monitoring solution that would make crash investigation fast and reliable.

They implemented Bugsnag in about six weeks, using breadcrumbs, custom event indexing, ANR detection, and integrations with Jira, Slack, and PagerDuty to pinpoint and prioritize errors by release. As a result, engineers troubleshoot and fix classes of crashes much faster, reduce time spent on stability issues, and improve the user stability score—freeing up development time to build new features.
