In early 2017 NETGEAR launched a public bug bounty program with Bugcrowd to stay ahead of evolving threats and improve the security of its products. As a leader in consumer connectivity, NETGEAR needed a proactive approach to earn and maintain user trust by protecting privacy and device security.

NETGEAR implemented a managed bug bounty using Bugcrowd’s curated crowd of security researchers, covering devices, mobile apps, and exposed APIs with rewards from Bugcrowd points up to $150–$15,000 per finding. The program adds another layer to NETGEAR’s security posture, helping the company cement its leadership and demonstrate a clear commitment to keeping users’ connections secure.
