A Bufferzone Case Study
The National Insurance Institute of Israel (NII) needed a way to securely process sensitive accident claim and medical information while protecting its network from risks posed by removable media and self-service kiosk uploads. It also needed a solution that would be transparent for users, easy to manage across branches, compatible with both Windows 7 and legacy XP endpoints, and workable through Microsoft GPO without frequent signature updates. Bufferzone provided BUFFERZONE Advanced Endpoint Security to address these requirements.
Bufferzone deployed its solution on employee PCs and self-service kiosks so files from CDs, USB drives, and uploads opened inside a virtual container, isolating any malware or active content from the rest of the network. This let investigators work normally while keeping endpoints and the wider NII network protected from malware and zero-day exploits, with uploads safely processed before being passed along. The deployment was completed quickly, required minimal support and updates, and had minimal resource utilization.
