Ventura County Office of Emergency Services switches to DLAN Incident Management Software

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office, responsible for emergency management for a population of over 850,000, faced challenges with their previous incident management software. Their old system was not intuitive and required programming knowledge for customization, which hindered their ability to prepare for unique hazards like wildfires and storms. This led them to seek a new solution from vendor Buffalo Computer Graphics.

Buffalo Computer Graphics implemented its DisasterLAN (DLAN) software, which provided an intuitive and easily customizable platform without the need for programming. The solution was immediately put to the test during the major Thomas Fire, where staff successfully used DLAN to manage sheltering operations and track logistics with limited prior experience. The vendor's close support made implementation painless. The result was a significant improvement in efficiency and situational awareness for the customer, Buffalo Computer Graphics' client.
