BCG Delivers Desktop Ship Simulator System - Hillsborough County Public Schools

Jefferson High School’s Maritime Program in Tampa, FL, needed a realistic desktop ship simulation environment to support student maritime training. Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) worked with Hillsborough County Public Schools to provide the training system, including its Maritime Simulation Tool (MaST) and related desktop simulator components.

BCG implemented a Desktop Ship Simulator with an Instructor Station and a student training station featuring radar, ECDIS, a virtual steering stand, a desktop steering console, and a visual display. The solution gave instructors flexible control over scenarios and let students train independently on vessel maneuvering in a high-fidelity environment. BCG also provided instructor training and a two-year warranty, though no specific quantitative performance metrics were cited.
