Revamping their Rewards Program to Recognize Younger Workers

Peter Piper Pizza, a family-run franchise operated by Pizza Properties, Inc. with 48 locations across Texas and New Mexico, needed to modernize a long-standing employee rewards program to better engage a younger, largely 16–20 workforce while reducing administrative overhead and standardizing recognition across multiple sites. Vice President of HR Sharon Voelz selected Bucketlist’s customizable, app-driven rewards platform to replace the old system and meet those needs.

Bucketlist worked with Peter Piper Pizza to tailor an online recognition program that blended digital rewards with traditional elements (like anniversary pins), empowered regional supervisors, and centralized recognition across all locations. The result: staff now interact with the Bucketlist platform daily, employee engagement and culture feedback have improved, recognition is formalized company-wide (birthdays, anniversaries, quarterly targets), the program has aided recruitment and retention, and it kept dispersed teams connected when 80% of employees were furloughed during COVID-19.
