Creating an Employee Recognition Program That Everybody Can Be Proud Of

Doctors of BC, a voluntary association representing 14,000 physicians, residents and medical students in British Columbia, had to move fully remote in March 2020 and found their traditional, face-to-face recognition activities (from thank-you cards to a points program) were losing traction. To modernize employee rewards and keep teams connected, they evaluated several platforms and selected Bucketlist’s online rewards and recognition platform.

Bucketlist implemented a highly customizable program—branded dashboards, budget allocation and spend tracking, personalized awards—and supported Doctors of BC with a dedicated account manager to embed the platform into internal processes. Launched on Employee Appreciation Day with gift cards to activate accounts, the solution measurably boosted engagement: pulse surveys report staff feel better able to recognize colleagues, peer-to-peer recognition expanded across the 280-person team, and the platform became a central hub that broke down silos.
