Cheaper Than Dirt Guns, the brick-and-mortar spin-off of the Cheaper Than Dirt retail brand, needed to build a completely new corporate IT infrastructure from the ground up. The company required a flexible, independent environment that could support fast growth while still sharing inventory and financial data with its parent organization. Buchanan Technologies was brought in to design and deliver the hardware, software, and ongoing support needed for the new operation.

Buchanan Technologies implemented a Microsoft-based environment with Active Directory on VMware hosts, Dell SAN storage, and Cisco ASA security with site-to-site VPN connectivity. The solution gave Cheaper Than Dirt Guns a scalable, easy-to-manage infrastructure with lower support overhead and 24x7x365 managed services for server and network systems. As a result, the customer was able to focus on retail operations while Buchanan delivered reliable performance, simplified administration, and room to expand as new locations opened.
