VolkerFitzpatrick, a UK civil engineering and construction company, needed to prove its Building Information Modelling (BIM) capability to win more work, especially as Level 2 BIM became mandatory for UK government contracts. To support this, the company worked with BSI and used BSI Verification for BIM to assess and certify its BIM procedures and documentation.
BSI implemented a gap analysis and full audit against relevant BIM standards, helping VolkerFitzpatrick close minor non-conformities and achieve certification across BS 1192-1, PAS 1192-2 and PAS 1192-4. As a result, VolkerFitzpatrick reduced the time and cost of answering BIM-related PQQs, strengthened client assurance, improved its market profile, and opened up access to government and private-sector contracts, with the potential for new revenue streams.
