UDG Healthcare Plc Gains Speed, Agility and High Performance With Secure Web Gateway

UDG Healthcare plc, a global healthcare outsourcing provider with 8,700 employees across 26 countries, needed to strengthen cybersecurity as its mobile and desktop workforce expanded and its IT environment grew more complex. The company sought a 100% cloud-based secure web gateway to protect users and corporate data from web-based threats, support mobility without VPN backhaul, and apply granular internet access policies across different regions and user groups. BSI helped UDG evaluate and deploy a solution using Zscaler.

BSI implemented Zscaler Internet Security as a cloud security solution for 2,000 office-based users and 1,000 remote users, with local and central internet connectivity to avoid backhauling all traffic. The deployment was rapid and caused minimal disruption, while delivering web filtering, firewall protection, advanced threat protection, sandboxing, and consistent policies across desktop, laptop, and mobile devices. As a result, UDG gained faster access, reduced bandwidth use, improved user experience, and elastic 24/7 protection against malware, botnets, and zero-day threats.
