A BSI Case Study
Tata Power, India’s largest private sector integrated power company, needed to strengthen its enterprise risk management in a more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous business environment. To move beyond compliance and align its existing process with an international framework, Tata Power worked with BSI on ISO 31000 risk management.
BSI helped Tata Power select the right risk management standard, trained teams on ISO 31000 implementation and internal auditing, and supported integration with ISO 22301 business continuity through joint audits. As a result, Tata Power became the first company in the Tata Group and the first power company in India to receive a Statement of Compliance to ISO 31000:2009, trained over 40 employees in each course, reduced audit cycle time, improved risk and continuity processes, and achieved a maturity rating of 3 to 4 out of 5.
