Case Study: McDonald’s strengthens global food supply chain security with BSI PAS 96

A BSI Case Study

Preview of the McDonald’s Case Study

How BSI Helped Protect Food and Drink Supply Chains From Attack

McDonald’s worked with BSI to address the growing risk of deliberate attacks on the food and drink supply chain, including malicious contamination, fraud, cybercrime, and other insider threats. The company needed a clearer, more proactive way to protect food safety and supply integrity beyond traditional HACCP-based controls.

BSI helped develop PAS 96, a fast-track public standard built through a consensus process with industry stakeholders, including McDonald’s. By adopting and sharing PAS 96 across its global supply chain, McDonald’s strengthened its internal standards and improved supply chain security, while also enhancing credibility, stakeholder reassurance, and overall risk management.
