A BSI Case Study
East Bilney Coachworks (KL), part of the Baldwin family’s Norfolk vehicle repair group, faced a major setback when a fire destroyed its King’s Lynn site in late 2014. After several months of uncertainty and a move to new premises, the business needed to rebuild confidence, restore operations, and reassure insurers and customers while maintaining its focus on quality and service.
BSI helped East Bilney Coachworks (KL) achieve the BSI Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair, aligned to BS 10125 and ISO 9001, less than a year after reopening. The certification introduced more consistent procedures, better risk control, and stronger internal discipline across the team, while also supporting customer reassurance and insurance work. Since then, the business has more than doubled its staff from 10 to 21 and used the Kitemark as a symbol of its recovery and future growth.
