Costain Group, a leading UK engineering and construction provider, needed to transition its quality management approach to the updated ISO 9001:2015 standard while keeping its business processes aligned with strategy, customer focus, and growing compliance demands. BSI supported Costain through this shift, helping the company understand the new requirements and assess how its existing management system, The Costain Way, matched the revised standard.
With BSI’s guidance, Costain certified to ISO 9001:2015 in about six months, with minimal additional work because much of the standard was already embedded in its risk-based, app-enabled management system. The result was stronger alignment between quality and business strategy, improved leadership engagement, greater employee involvement, and better usability through mobile access, while also supporting compliance and customer satisfaction.
