Compliance Program Meets New Workplace Violence Prevention Rules

Large Medical Company, a large medical system, turned to BSI for help complying with California’s new Violence Prevention in Health Care regulations. While some sites already had pieces in place, they needed a complete system-wide workplace violence prevention program that could still be tailored to the needs of each of their five medical centers and ten campuses.

BSI worked with the client to develop a workplace violence prevention plan template, an editable risk assessment tool, new staff policies and procedures, online workplace violence awareness training, and classroom materials for patient care staff. As a result, Large Medical Company met all regulatory requirements ahead of schedule, became one of the few medical facilities in the state to meet the original implementation date, and rolled out training to more than 500,000 employees systemwide, improving staff awareness and ownership.
