A BSI Case Study
Cormac, a Cornwall Council-owned group delivering civil engineering, infrastructure, facilities, property services, and adult social care, was facing rapid growth with legacy systems for accidents, inspections, and nonconformities, no document version control or risk management, limited access due to hosting issues, and manual audit and action handling. BSI provided Business Improvement Software to support Cormac’s expansion and improve quality management across its services.
BSI implemented a web-based, customizable management system that integrated legacy data, enabled mobile access and SQL reporting, and supported ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and Highway sector scheme certification. The results included improved ISO certification retention, stronger client confidence, automated notifications and reminders saving staff time worth twice the license fee annually, and a 50% reduction in lost days through better incident analysis.
