A BSI Case Study
PwC, the global professional services firm, wanted to improve service quality and operational efficiency while enabling speedy access to authentic electronic information, supporting remote and mobile working, and demonstrating integrity in its information handling. In the UK, PwC’s document management team needed a stronger framework to support its paperless-office approach and reassure staff and clients that electronic records were complete and trustworthy.
BSI helped PwC achieve BS 10008 certification for the legal admissibility of electronic information, building on its existing information security practices. The solution formalized policies and procedures for managing electronic records and delivered immediate access to authentic records, better use of office space, reduced paperwork and security risk, easier electronic responses to court requests, and more flexible working; PwC said the standard became central to operations and enabled the business to scale its paperless model.
