A BS&A Software Case Study

City of Angola - Customer Case Study

The City of Angola, Indiana needed a better way to manage municipal financial operations and add a building department application that could integrate with its existing systems. With its old setup, application integration was not possible, forcing staff to make manual journal entries for reports like the trial balance and balance sheet, and the lack of a building module also limited connections with Steuben County’s GIS system. Angola chose BS&A Software after evaluating 12 vendors.

BS&A Software implemented a fully integrated community development and financial management suite, including building, payroll, human resources, cash receipting, and online tools. The city can now post entries directly to the General Ledger, handle permits and receipts without manual entry, access county GIS data, and let staff work more efficiently from their desks. With 28 software users serving 8,612 residents and 3,300 utility billing customers, the city gained a more streamlined, user-friendly system and improved communication between departments.
