A Brookes Supply Chain Solutions Case Study
Costa Express, the UK’s largest and fastest growing coffee shop coffee brand, needed a way to scale its rapid expansion while keeping its revenue-sharing model profitable. With real-time telemetry data available from thousands of self-serve machines but no effective way to use it for replenishment, the team relied on manual spreadsheet estimates and a non-scalable “Brand Guardian” model. Brookes Supply Chain Solutions, through Brookes Retail and its SO99+ platform, was brought in to improve visibility, control, and demand-driven replenishment.
Brookes Supply Chain Solutions implemented an integrated SaaS solution using SO99+, alongside system design, data analysis, and a major supply chain transformation that added a new logistics partner and new procurement processes. The solution went live in just six months and delivered measurable results, including a 20% reduction in field stock, 50% fewer delivery refusals, a 30% reduction in annual logistics costs, 70 tonnes of annual CO2 savings, and a 10% increase in Net Promoter Score. Costa Express also reached its growth targets three years ahead of schedule without adding headcount.
