Westmark’s New Campus Network Brings Advanced Capabilities to Specialized Learning

Westmark School, a Los Angeles independent school for students with language-based learning differences, needed to replace an aging, hard-to-manage wired and wireless network that couldn’t support one-to-one iPads, SMART Boards, streaming video, or a move to cloud-based testing. With limited IT staff, no PoE on switches, single fiber uplinks, no QoS and frequent downtime, the school required a reliable, high-performance, scalable network that would serve needs for the next five to seven years.

Westmark deployed Brocade VDX core switches and ICX edge switches (including PoE+ and stacking) integrated with an Aruba 802.11ac wireless solution, pre-configured and tested for rapid cutover. The new infrastructure delivered low-latency, high-throughput video and media, simplified management through a single interface, a 10 GbE-ready foundation, fast two-day deployment and improved reliability and scalability for future growth.
