A Brocade Case Study
Veracity Networks, a fast-growing Utah service provider with more than 300 miles of fiber, needed carrier-class resiliency, consistent QoS for voice/video/TV, and the ability to deliver 10 GbE services to stay ahead of larger competitors — all on a constrained budget after a major fiber replacement. The company’s priorities included nonstop availability, fast OSPF reconvergence, automated fault isolation and recovery, and predictable 10 Gbps performance even in the event of fiber cuts.
Working with Red Sky Solutions and Brocade, Veracity built a Brocade-based architecture using ICX access switches, VDX aggregation with VCS Fabric, and MLX core routers over redundant 100 Gbps backbone rings and DWDM transport to enable zero-touch provisioning, hitless failover, and QoS. The deployment delivered carrier-class availability (surviving three multi-hour fiber cuts with no customer impact), simplified operations and lower OPEX, immediate 10 GbE service delivery, and scalable growth without added management complexity.
