Textile Rubber & Chemical Company (TRCC) is a multinational chemical and technology firm serving the flooring industry and an early adopter of SAP HANA. With a VMware environment of 300 VMs, VDI for users, and just three IT staff supporting 22 divisions and 500 users, TRCC’s aging, ad hoc network suffered packet storms, high latency (notably VDI keyboard lag), and outages that disrupted mission‑critical SAP HANA and other services. They also needed QoS for 200 new IP phones and greater automation and manageability.

TRCC replaced the legacy infrastructure with a Brocade solution—VDX 6740 switches with VCS Fabric in the core, ICX 6610 aggregation, ICX 6450 at the edge, and Brocade Network Advisor—integrated with Nimble flash storage and SAP HANA appliances. After lab testing, the team completed the rip‑and‑replace in 64 hours; the fabric automated provisioning and QoS, eliminated Spanning Tree issues, restored application responsiveness, provided port‑level visibility, simplified management, and delivered strong resiliency (can sustain loss of up to two‑thirds of core switches).
