Sligro Food Group supports VDI initiative with Brocade VCS Fabric technology

Sligro Food Group is a major Dutch food wholesaler operating 46 cash-and-carry stores, nine delivery outlets and 130 supermarkets, serving nearly 10,000 employees and customers nationwide. Facing end-of-support for Windows XP and a need for a uniform, centrally managed desktop environment, Sligro required a high-performance, 10 GbE switching platform compatible with its chosen VMware/Nutanix VDI architecture to support around 1,200 virtual desktops with continuous replication between primary and secondary data centers.

Sligro deployed four Brocade VDX 6740 switches in a single VCS cluster to underpin its VDI network. The solution delivered strong 10 GbE performance, seamless VMware integration (including AMPP), and the ability to manage the switches as one logical chassis, simplifying operations and provisioning. Implementation was smooth, integrated easily with Nutanix, and resulted in easier management, future-proofed infrastructure and lower operating costs.
