Las Vegas Resort Wins Big with Converged IP Network from Brocade

M Resort is a 90-acre Las Vegas casino-resort that needed a highly reliable, flexible and scalable 24/7 network to support guests, conventions and constantly changing casino-floor requirements. The challenge was to converge voice, data, wireless and video onto a single infrastructure that could rapidly adapt to new gaming applications, digital signage and varied convention needs without disrupting service.

By deploying Brocade NetIron MLX routers, FastIron GS switches and Mobility solutions, the resort moved all IP traffic onto one network—supporting about 1,200 VoIP phones, 1,900 slot machines, 400 PCs, digital signage, IP-enabled mini-bars and more. The converged network reduced cabling and operating costs, eliminated extra PBX headcount, enabled fast multicast content updates and easy scaling to higher bandwidths, and earned industry recognition as a Computerworld Honors Laureate.
