Hurricane Electric, an internet backbone and colocation provider, was expanding its multi-tenant Fremont data center and needed a UPS solution with top-tier reliability, efficiency, and low total cost of ownership. The company turned to Brocade for a solution using the Power Xpert 9395 UPS with Energy Saver System (ESS) and service.

Brocade’s solution delivered the uptime and availability Hurricane Electric required while cutting utility and cooling costs, improving efficiency to 99 percent, and reducing heat and maintenance needs. The small footprint also preserved valuable data center space, and the result was strong enough that Hurricane Electric ordered 10 more units, citing lower long-term costs and greater competitiveness in colocation pricing.
