WAGO Kontakttechnik, a global leader in electrical interconnections and automation, faced growing IT demands as production, virtualization and new buildings increased the number of 10 GbE devices. Its multivendor network lacked high availability, scalability and standardization, producing capacity bottlenecks and prompting a need for a future‑proof infrastructure.

Working with partner Axians, WAGO standardized on Brocade (MLX core, FastIron SX distribution, TurboIron 24X) and implemented Multi‑Chassis Trunking and sFlow monitoring under a five‑year plan. The upgrade delivered scalable, high‑performance networking, simplified management, potential savings on fiber cabling, and a foundation for company‑wide standardization, PoE rollout and expanded server virtualization.
