First National Technology Solutions (FNTS) is a managed-services and data-center provider founded in 1996 that supports banks, manufacturers and other businesses needing IT, storage, backup and disaster-recovery services. Many clients outsource IT to FNTS to avoid the cost and complexity of running in‑house networks; FNTS’s challenge was to provide a highly reliable, scalable infrastructure and partner experience that lets customers focus on their core business rather than day‑to‑day IT.

FNTS built its platform on Brocade Gen 5 Fibre Channel SANs (DCX 8510 backbones and 6510 switches, ~1,500 ports) to deliver cloud, IaaS, colocation, migration and rapid recovery services. The result: customers can deploy infrastructure in days instead of weeks, Chef Solutions saved more than $1 million a year after migration, and FNTS has demonstrated rapid disaster recovery (rebuilding a customer’s failed SAN over a weekend with no revenue loss), allowing clients to stay focused on their businesses.
