Singing River Health System is a 415‑bed regional provider serving southern Mississippi and Alabama with 2,600 employees and 300 physicians. After Hurricane Katrina highlighted the need for robust disaster recovery, the health system sought to redesign its IT network, storage and backup to ensure business continuity and to support growing bandwidth demands from Epic EHR, medical imaging, analytics and mobile devices.

Singing River selected Brocade SAN and Ethernet solutions (VDX switches and VCS Fabric) to modernize its data centers, replicate data across two sites, and simplify management. The overhaul enabled near‑instant disaster recovery, cut Epic/Citrix user response time from 15 to 7 seconds, accelerated backups, and created a scalable foundation for VDI, analytics and expanding clinical data needs.
