A Brocade Case Study
BARBRI, a leading provider of bar exam review and other legal education courses, faced a tight two- to three-month deadline to move off Thomson Reuters’ IT infrastructure after a change of ownership. The team had to stand up a new data center environment to support several public sites—most notably barbri.com, which sees 40,000–50,000 concurrent users at peak—and ensure availability, performance during large traffic swings, and a refreshed site look.
They deployed Brocade Virtual Traffic Manager as a virtual ADC (a cost-effective alternative to their prior F5 solution), which was installed quickly and enabled load balancing, content caching, TrafficScript automation, and built‑in performance monitoring. As a result BARBRI met its migration deadline, automated tasks that formerly took hours, troubleshot issues in minutes, minimized downtime during the site redesign, and benefited from reliable performance and responsive support.
