Mondelez International, Inc. Chooses BroadSign International, LLC for its Interactive Vending Network

Mondelez International, one of the world’s largest snack makers, launched diji-touch—an interactive vending network of touch‑screen, Kinect‑enabled, NFC‑equipped machines planned for a national rollout (targeting 1,500 units in year one) across hospitals, campuses, museums and transit hubs. The challenge was to find a scalable, cloud‑based content management and ad‑serving platform that could power rich interactive experiences, long dwell times and monetize the network with both endemic and non‑endemic advertisers.

Mondelez selected Broadsign’s digital signage platform (Broadsign X/Xpress) to drive interactive content, HD motion graphics and ad delivery across the diji‑touch estate. Beta results showed average dwell times over six minutes and a threefold sales lift; the system also enabled branded interactive promotions (for example, drawing on a virtual Oreo) and opened new digital out‑of‑home advertising opportunities while supporting rapid national scaling.
