Grandi Stazioni S.p.A., which manages digital signage across Italy’s 14 largest railway stations and reaches about 700 million people annually, needed a scalable platform to expand its network, add audience measurement and give advertisers clear ROI. With an existing portfolio of over 1,100 screens, totems and billboards, the company sought better campaign management, reporting and support for rich media and interactivity as it shifted from pure advertising to mixed content (rail info, news and promotions).
Grandi Stazioni converted to Broadsign’s cloud-based digital signage software (Broadsign X and Xpress), gaining integrated campaign management, audience-metrics support and lower operational costs. The move enabled planned growth (to ~1,300 screens, 250 totems and 30 LED/LCDs by end of 2015), faster deployment of interactive and rich-media campaigns (e.g., augmented reality and social integrations) and improved advertiser reporting and ROI visibility, strengthening its position in the Italian DOOH market.
