Preview of the Pep Boys Case Study

Pep Boys - Customer Case Study

Pep Boys turned to Broadleaf Commerce after needing a framework that could handle complex customizations and deep integrations with existing systems. What began as a project to enable online service appointment scheduling using Broadleaf’s eServe functionality expanded into selling tires online, showing store-based pricing and inventory availability, and supporting reservations for installation bays across 723 stores and nearly 100,000 SKUs.

Broadleaf Commerce delivered an extensible domain/service model with dynamic pricing hooks and order-submit integrations, connecting Pep Boys to 30+ back-end systems and enabling fast search and cart operations on a scalable Tomcat/MySQL stack. The result is pepboys.com running on Broadleaf Commerce with 99,417 unique SKUs online, robust store-level pricing and bay reservation capabilities, reduced development time and cost, and a high-performance, continuously improving customer experience.
