A Broadleaf Commerce Case Study
GANZ eStore faced an aging, home‑grown eCommerce application with architectural flaws that made maintenance costly and new features difficult to implement. Needing support for both physical and virtual products and currencies plus integration with existing warehouse, order management, and their Webkinz® gaming system, GANZ eStore selected the Broadleaf Commerce platform (built on Spring and Hibernate) and Broadleaf’s professional services to re‑launch its eStore.
Broadleaf Commerce delivered a customizable, extensible foundation that supported complex pricing, merchandising, content management, workflows and checkout processes while integrating with GANZ’s fulfillment and Webkinz systems. The result, per GANZ’s software architect, is a simplified application architecture that reduces complexity, makes future feature changes easier and less expensive to implement, and better supports GANZ’s ongoing business needs.
