The Department for Internal and Territorial Affairs (DAIT), a division of Italy’s Interior Ministry, faced the critical challenge of modernizing its IT infrastructure to securely and reliably collect national electoral data from thousands of prefectures and municipalities. To improve service delivery and handle significant workload peaks during elections, DAIT needed robust authentication, superior application monitoring, and a new method for data dissemination. They partnered with Broadcom's CA Technologies to implement solutions including CA Advanced Authentication and CA Application Performance Management.

Broadcom's CA Technologies provided a comprehensive solution including the CA Identity Suite, CA Application Performance Management, and CA API Management. This rationalized architecture eliminated user access issues, ensured high performance and security for the electoral process, and made the system easier to manage. The results included operational cost savings through reduced server needs and greater IT autonomy, successfully proven during a major electoral review with no access problems for all 8,000 municipalities.
