Case Study: KORAMIS achieves stronger IIoT security with Broadcom Symantec Critical System Protection

A Broadcom Case Study

Preview of the KORAMIS Case Study

How KORAMIS uses Symantec technology to protect demanding industrial networks

KORAMIS, a specialist in industrial security, faced the challenge of protecting complex Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments from cyberattacks. These historically grown networks combine a wide variety of hardware and software, making them vulnerable to advanced threats that traditional signature-based security could not address without disrupting critical operations. They turned to vendor Broadcom's Symantec technology for a solution.

The solution implemented by Broadcom centered on Symantec Critical System Protection (CSP), a host-based security solution that uses application whitelisting, sandboxing, and intrusion prevention to protect systems without requiring signatures or updates. This was supplemented by Symantec Industrial Control System Protection (ICSP) to secure the attack vector from removable media. The result is reliable protection for critical production plants that prevents targeted attacks and dynamic threats without disrupting operations, thereby hardening the customer's industrial control systems.
