Global Bank Achieves Significant Savings and Increased Transaction Volume With Zero-Touch Authentication

The customer, a leading banking and financial service provider, faced the challenge of stopping fraudulent online payment transactions while ensuring a smooth checkout experience for its legitimate customers. They needed a low-cost solution that could be implemented quickly without requiring additional internal IT resources. To address this, they turned to vendor Broadcom (CA Technologies) and its products, CA Transaction Manager and CA Risk Analytics.

Broadcom’s solution provided "zero-touch" 3D Secure authentication, which used advanced risk analytics and machine learning to invisibly assess transactions in real-time. This allowed approximately 88% of genuine cardholders to check out without interruption while effectively identifying fraud. The results were significant: the bank detected more fraud cases, reduced transaction abandonment from 4% to under 1%, and saved approximately £2.6 million in the first three months, all without increasing fraud losses.
