Appletree School, a private school located near a Washington, DC Metro station, faced growing security risks from commuter traffic and unauthorized visitors while relying on a traditional lock-and-key system that was hard to track. With limited financial and technical resources and staff who could not constantly monitor the front door, Appletree School selected Brivo and implemented the Brivo Onair access control system.
Brivo installed Brivo Onair, assigning PIN codes to parents and staff and enabling administrators to monitor and manage door access remotely (even from home on snow days) and to disable entry when school is canceled. The solution gave parents peace of mind, increased teacher and staff productivity by allowing controlled access before and after hours, reduced IT maintenance needs since Brivo manages the system, and lowered upfront installation costs so more funds remain for student resources.
