Internal Revenue Service modernizes CDW with Brillient, integrating 20+ data sources

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) faced a challenge modernizing and maintaining its Compliance Data Warehouse (CDW), which integrates data from over 20 internal source systems. The IRS contracted Brillient to update these systems to better analyze emerging tax noncompliance issues.

Brillient implemented a solution involving ETL processes, data enrichment, and the creation of a graph database application and document processing pipeline. This resulted in rapid data export techniques that improved timely delivery and reduced warehouse load, and a document pipeline that automated formerly manual tasks. Brillient's work enabled the CDW to effectively inform Congress and the GAO on the effectiveness of COVID-19 credit programs.
