The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) turned to Brillient Corporation to help manage its Compliance Data Warehouse (CDW), a big data environment that integrates information from more than 20 source systems. The IRS also needed support integrating 10 years of individual and business tax return data from legacy systems to improve compliance and fraud detection.

Brillient Corporation implemented ETL, data enrichment, data masking, data modeling, and scripting to process and analyze the IRS’s large and complex data sets. The work included open-source big data research, unstructured data parsing, social network analysis, and a rule-based engine for audit selection, while the Metadata Automator achieved an 88% automation rate and helped save approximately $5 million in consulting costs.
