Weingarten Realty Establish Project Management Office on SharePoint 2013

Weingarten Realty, a midsize commercial real estate owner and manager, needed a consistent way for executives and managers to collaborate on and track multiple IT development projects. The company wanted to establish a Project Management Office with dashboards, portfolio visibility, and better insight into resource allocation, and preferred a solution that would leverage its existing SharePoint deployment. To meet these needs they selected BrightWork and deployed BrightWork on SharePoint 2013.

BrightWork implemented a virtual PMO using the Project Standard template on SharePoint 2013, replacing ad hoc email/Excel/document processes with a centralized portal and reporting. Within months Weingarten’s IT team had 20 small projects and one large ERP rollout entered and tracked, senior executives gained consolidated visibility across programs and portfolios, and Phase 1 was rolled out to 15 IT users with a planned Phase 2 organization-wide deployment—demonstrating measurable improvements in project tracking, reporting, and resource transparency thanks to BrightWork.
