NUI Galway leverage SharePoint to manage the entire spread of project management

NUI Galway’s Information Solutions & Services (ISS) department formed a PMO to embed PRINCE2-based project management and needed a tool that matched its processes, governance and culture while delivering strong reporting, document management, budget control and time recording. After establishing “just enough” processes, NUI Galway chose BrightWork (BrightWork on SharePoint) to meet requirements for quality, functionality, cost and ease of deployment.

BrightWork was implemented using SharePoint templates to manage projects, Request for Service Enhancement (RSE) work and time recording, with team homepages, project sites, Gantt views and a document repository. BrightWork’s roll-up reporting gives visibility at project, group and department levels (status, stage, issues, budget tracking and site update frequency), enabling ISS to manage work ranging from three days to over a year, improve governance and tracking of budgets and time, and increase overall project visibility across the department.
