Lids Replace Project Spreadsheets with SharePoint Reporting Dashboards

Lids Sports Group, a rapidly growing retail organization operating more than 1,000 stores and multiple online sites, struggled to manage 100+ concurrent projects without formal project management tools, relying on Excel spreadsheets that made collaboration and executive reporting difficult. To address portfolio management, resource tracking and project prioritization needs, Lids Sports Group chose BrightWork, deploying BrightWork on SharePoint as their project and portfolio management platform.

BrightWork implemented a SharePoint-based Project Office with department-specific sites, the Structured Template for project plans, automated metrics, risk and issue tracking, and a Project Request system to capture and prioritize ideas. As a result of BrightWork, Lids Sports Group decommissioned disparate spreadsheets, achieved closer cross-team collaboration, provided executives with timely, meaningful reporting on hundreds of projects, and successfully upgraded their BrightWork deployment to SharePoint 2013.
